My Top 3 Favorite Podcasts for Creative Business Owners

One thing that I will always encourage any entrepreneur or small business owner is to listen to podcasts. Podcasts are a large part of my education and motivation to continue to grow my business. It’s definitely in the top 3 of the best thing I’ve done to grow my business. I’ve only been listening to podcast for the past year and now, I can’t imagine my life with them. Because of that, I put together my Top 3 favorite business podcast for creative business owners. The information given in these podcast are priceless. What I also love about them is that it’s like having your own mentor. They are giving you good information but they are also motivating you to take that next step in your business. They share things that didn’t work, so you don’t make the same mistakes, and things that worked very well that upleveled their companies. So, without further ado, in no particular order, my Top 3 business podcast for creative entrepreneurs.

      1. Being Boss
Being Boss is the first creative entrepreneur podcast that I started listening to. Kathleen Shannon was a senior art director and Emily Thompson was a web designer before they became entrepreneurs so I immediately felt connected with them as a graphic designer myself. As two women with similar skill sets as mine, it was so motivational to listen to them tell their stories of how they created their location independent 6 or 7 figure businesses. As corny as it sounds, it made me feel like I could be successful too. I love how the show is so conversational, relaxed, and funny. They are not what I would think about when I think of hosts of a business podcast, and that is what make them so great. Listening to them feels like listening to some friends that happen to be entrepreneurs. They are never uptight and they just tell it how it is. They are so real and extremely knowledgeable. What’s so exciting about them is that they started this podcast to talk about the businesses that they run and the Being Boss podcast became an empire of its own. They created a huge audience and now they have retreats and they wrote a book. They are walking their talk and I’m here for it! I’m a big fan and will continue to listening to them every week.
      2. Goal Digger
I adore Jenna Kutcher! She puts me in such a great mood when I listen to her. It sounds like she is smiling when she records the podcast and then it makes me smile. It’s awesome how she started her road to entrepreneurship. She begin with simply working very hard and just course corrected along the way. A problem that I’ve had in the past, and I know that many aspiring entrepreneurs have, is that we want to all the answers before we start running our business. One thing that she loves to say is “Done is better than perfect” and truer words have never been spoken. She did some research in the beginning and then just got to work. Most people aren’t going to be able to run a business perfect on the first try so there is no reason to prolong beginning to do endless research. Because she took that first step, she learned more and more as she ran her business and created a 7-figure empire. Such an inspiration and she gives awesome tips on how listeners can their own company. She also interviews successful entrepreneurs. This podcast is just a wealth of knowledge!
      3. The Creative Empire
The formatting of the Creative Empire podcast is so fantastic. I love the fact that we get the perspective of both hosts, Reina and Christina, and some episodes are interviews, some are tips directly from the hosts, and some are live coaching sessions with current or aspiring creative entrepreneurs. They set up the show in a way that the listeners can learn in a lot of different ways. The live coaching sessions are very unique and super creative. I, personally, learn so much for the episodes. For experts, I would imagine because they know so much about their field, it’s probably harder to come up with content that uses those lower level questions. With the coaching episodes, they are getting questions, essentially, from the source. This show is genius.

Please check out these phenomenal podcasts! Until next time… use great design to increase your bottom line.
